I am often asked this question when i am cleaning carpets at a customers house “do you do rug cleaning?” which then leads onto “could you just go over this rug for me?” I usually answer this with a “yes, but it will only be a surface clean as to clean a rug properly you have to perform very different tasks.”
Some of the things i would have to do are,
back dusting – this removes dry soil from the base of the fibres that cause premature wear. it is almost impossible to remove these dry particules with vacuuming alone this is because of the way the rug is constructed.
Bleed test – i would have to test every single colour in your rug to ensure no colour bleeds out. This is because the dye’s used in your rug will all have different tolerances to Ph levels. Incorrect Ph can cause the dye’s to run or dull the colours.
Urine – if your pet has had an accident on your rug it would need submersion cleaning. This is because the urine will soak into the weave of your rug.
Depending on requirements it may be best practise to clean your rug off site.
So if you would like your rug to be given specialist cleaning treatment that will preserve its life and keep it looking its very best give me a call.
